FORWARD MOTION (FOMO) is a non-profit socio-health organization that focuses on improving the lives of women, girls, children, and other marginalized groups

How do we work?

Our aim is to improve their access to health information and learning to reduce sexual reproductive risks in Tanzania, as well as enabling them with entrepreneurial skills. The organization was established in September 2011 and formerly registered on 09th June 2015 under Tanzania’s NGO Act 22 of 2002. We were awarded with registration certificate no-00NGO/00007995.

Spark conversations and change mindset

To make a lasting impact, we know that we must actively engage and include the communities we are seeking to help. We are continually learning and growing in how we show up as an authentic, ethical partner.

Our Goal

Through media and focus groups, we can start the hard conversations on the mental health issues in our society. This will give access to women to be able to speak on the challenges that they are facing and through this we can offer solutions for these problems.

Partnering with Local Communities

In Tanzania, we have a poor healthy lifestyle and mental health is a taboo in our society.

Education and training

They say when you educate a woman then you have educated the whole society. Women being the caretakers of the families, we want to educate them on healthy lifestyles, mental health and other health issues women face like breast cancer etc. These women will then become advocates in our society, raising a much healthier generation but also raising awareness to the men in the society. Other than that, we know there is a raise in the number of women who run small businesses, Most of these women have no structured business and lack entrepreneurial skills. This makes it difficult to track the growth of the business or even be eligible for loans. Through forward motion, we educate these women and train them to become entrepreneurs
